Sat, Jul 2, 2011 - 28.77 mi [Cycling] Carnoustie Tayport Loop

Sat, Jul 2, 2011 - 28.77 mi [Cycling]
28.77 mi in 02:05:15 hours at 13.78 mi/h on Pinnacle Hybrid. [Cycling] Well it was a beautiful morning so I was off down the N1 cyclepath again and this time the Tay Bridge crossing was my aim. I had my camera and decided I should add this bridge crossing to my Youtube collection !!!

Anyway my timing was perfection as I caught the river Tay at slack water and it was a magnificent ripple free mirror and I took lots of pics before a fast ride over the Tay bridge to tayport followd by an even faster ride back across it reaching a max of 28.5 mph. Back along the cyclepath to Carnoustie was then followed by my worst round of the weekend ...
Perhaps 30 miles is a bit far to cycle before a round of golf and to expect it to be good !!
I would rest tomorrow as Carnoustie Championship Course beckoned and wanted to do it justice.

Photographs :

6.5 miles Looking across the Tay towards Tayport from
Broughty Ferry

7 miles : This is the Castle at Broughty Ferry

Dundee not far from the bridge.

Fri, Jul 1, 2011 - 20.26 mi [Cycling] Carnoustie to Broughty Ferry Loop

Fri, Jul 1, 2011 - 20.26 mi [Cycling]
20.26 mi in 01:20:08 hours at 15.17 mi/h on Pinnacle Hybrid. [Cycling] First day in Carnoustie for the golf and I decided to have a look around town before our 1st round of golf.
And I immediately found the N1 national cycle path which went along the Carnousite Links and past Panmure, Monifieth and Broughty ferry where I decided I must turn back to make the golf. The full route was traffic free and flat and made for great cycling. I must make time tomorrow to croo the Tay bridge and take some photos.
